Switching to Administrator

Post by LotsaCabo »

I have begun using SC to support my users in remote locations. They are general Users, on their machines, and I often need Admin-level access while I am supporting them. Is there a utility that anyone knows of where I can SWITCH to Admin-level permissions without logging out and/or losing the connection?

I have tried using SudoWin, however it is not as secure as I want. Ultimately, I would like to be prompted for the username and password that I would like to be authenticated as.

Any ideas?

Thanx,
Ryan

Why not use the windows built-in 'runas' command?

There are also some other methods using a cmd file named 'MakeMeAdmin' which temporarily puts the logged-in user to the local admin group
