Problem with video driver and directx

Post by rsmith4321 »

I'm having a problem with ultravnc 19.5 and the video driver that came with the installation. I thought the driver was only supposed to effect directx if a client was active, but the video driver seems to stay active all the time, from bootup. It disables directx 2d and agp accelleration and keeps software that relies on this from working, even when no client is connected. I don't remember having this problem before I tried to install logmein software, which I have now uninstalled after many problems. Or perhaps I did and I didn't notice. Is there a way to keep the video driver installed, but not effecting performance and directx unless a client is connected? Thanks for the help.

I am having the same problems as rsmith4321. I am running Windows XP 64 with the v1.0.1 x64 hook driver and server files installed in Program Files, not Program Files (x86). When I first boot the machine, the hook driver is present and NOT active. When I access the server for the first time, the driver becomes active and disables DirectDraw and AGP Texture Acceleration. This would be fine if the driver went back to NOT active when I log out.

Is there a way to do this?
