windows 2003 server when logging into windows vnc disconnect

Hi I am have a strange problem with windows 2003 server. I can connect to the server fine, and establish a vnc session. When I log into windows and the desktop is displayed, the vnc session is disconnected. I can imediately reconnect to the server.

Any ideas?

If I am understanding this correctly, vnc server uses its default settings when it is running as a service. When a user logs in it switches to this users settings. In the proccess any current vnc sessions are lost.

Is my understanding 0f this correctly? If so is there any way to prevent this behavor?

As it is I am forced to login twice to access this server. Not a big Deal, just kind of annoying.

If "default settings" are different from the logged "user settings" (port, display, dsm plugin), this is correct.
If they are the same, there is no reason to be disconected at logon, so some other problem is happening ...

I found it! I had compared the default and current setting several times before I found the difference. The "Remove Desktop Walpaper" Button was checked in one but not the other.
