How do you get Encryption to work?

Without the encryption I could connect.

Next I added the MSRC4Plugin.dsm to the Viewer and clicked to config and got a box where I Clicked Gen Key and Ok.
I moved the rc4.key and MSRC4Plugin.dsm files to the directory with my other files and added them to the zip. And created a new exe.

Then I emailed to my laptop. I get an Invalid Protocal error.

I tried both with the helpdesk.txt as is and with adding "MSRC4Plugin.dsm" to the helpdesk.txt this way:
-plugin MSRC4Plugin.dsm -connect 192.168.0.3:5500 -noregistry

Haven't found useful help in the forums. What should I look for?

Better yet, what makes this work?

On the server (laptop) I get Error "The pluin was unable to locate the key file..."

I have gen a key and put it in the zip file.

I Click OK on the box and it pops up a Connection active" balloon.

The viewer end (desktop) pops up with "Connection failed - Invalid protocol!"

So what next?

hmm do you have the same plugin version and key in your uvnc root folder and the .key file and the *.dsm file in your sc zip file??

If so, did you use the test creator to create this Single Click exe??

There are two single Click creators listed on the SC site. Use the bottom one to create your single click exe

Will try tomorrow. Should I reinstall the custom.zip and start over?

How about reinstalling the ultravnc program?

I can't get the DSM plugin out of the viewer window so at least I can go back to connecting without encrypt. How do I do that without reinstalling?
I uncheck the box and there is no place to click ok.

That is all you have to do just uncheck it..

I uncheck it, Click the X in the corner

Double click it again from the sys tray and the check is back.

Now I do have the target on the icon for the viewer on the start menu set with the dsm plugin. Should I take that out?

yes if you changed the shorcut change it back to what it was..

Ok I'm back at it. The connection works with no encryption.

I'm going back through the encryp. instructions.
After I create a key and add it to the custom.zip file I do have to run the
UltraVNC SC Creator tool again , don't I?
That way the key is in the exe file I email to my laptop, Right?

Do the plugin file, the exe file and the key file all have to be in the C:\ProgramFiles\UltraVNC directory?

How do I get rid of that? It will certainly confuse people.

Also, I don't understand why it works without me having to check the DSM plugin box in the Viewer.

Is the only way to disconnect from the server side to right click the icon on the taskbar and click Close?

How can the viewer person disconnect?
