Cannot close Viewer in Listen mode

Post by VNCUsr2 »

Hello all,
I start the viewer like this "vncviewer.exe /listen" but I am not able to close it by right clicking the eye-icon in systemtray and choose the close option. This is the case nevertheless if I had a connection, currently have one or if it was started without having any connection. Any hint? Is this a bug?
Running UltraVNC 1.02 under Win32.
Thanks VNCUsr2

Sometimes if you get a partial connection viewer or server will hang.

Does the viewer terminate in 5 mins if left alone??

Hello bevtech,
never tried the timeout of 5min. As mentioned, I only need to start it and try to close it. It will not work, I have to kill the process.

Are you guys sure there is no firewall restriction between the viewer and server because this sorta sounds like you have something interfering with your connection

yes, sure no firwall!
i can't close the listening viewer even right after starting it, with or without connection.
now i'm using a little batch and kill.exe to stop/restart the viewer in listen-mode which works fine, but that's not normal, right?

well I only use repeaters and I only active the viewer when I need to and I dont have any issues.. But I do recall other users having this exact same issue. Did you do a search and see if anything shows up in the older postings??
