SC and Vista

Post by NoOneKnowsAll »

Hello,

I think SC is one of the best VNC programs out there. I am a little worried that I see PCHelpDesk being worked on and not SC? SC is much more configurable and I do not care about nat to nat. I just want my users to be able to connect to me via my open port.

I have triad SC on Vista and it does not seem to work. Is there plans on updating SC to work with Vista?

I have learned a lot by looking at the Ultra VNC source code that is available. Thank you. I hope that I will be able to continue to learn in the future. Right now it does not look like PCHelpDesk is going in that direction. I am not much of a programmer but like to fiddle around and get it to do what I want.

Thank you again.

vnc use where total changed. Changed interactiave services and new video model will block all current versions for proper doing there job.
This will require a 50% code change, so current bugs have low priority.

SC don't use a service, so it could be easier to update to Vista the UltraVnc.

But when SC become total different of UltraVnc we need to debug, bug fix
2 seperate programs. Time is limited and maintaining several code trees
should be avoided.

Thank you for your replies.

So it sounds like Ultra VNC is going to be ported to work on Vista but SC will not longer be supported as is.

It is too bad. I really like this program. I want to thank you for everything you have done up to this point though.
