Transparent windows not appearing

Post by Annorax »

Hello, I did a search of the boards but didn't really find any clear way to solve my problem. Windows 2k Pro is running VNC server, and it seems with any client connection OS (I've tried XP Pro, ME, and 98SE), the transparent windows on my server do not appear on the client.

I unzipped those video drivers into the UltraVNC directory but I'm not sure how to use them. Are those what will fix this? Thanks for any help. 8)

INSTALL the driver, not only copying
> setupdrv.exe install

I did that, and was told to reboot. I then rebooted and tried it again using a client WinXP machine and it still didn't work.

The easyest way is to download TEST19.
This version has a driver checker buildin..

manual check

Device manager: You should see the extra display adapter
dosbox:
net start vnccom --> should tell active

Thanks. I checked Device manager and it says that there is a Winvnc video hook driver in addition to my current driver, and the dos prompt command said that the service was already activated, so it seems that the driver is activated.

Is there a certain version of the WinVNC server I must be running, or some option I must set in either the server or client to get it to work?
