A Very very very basic question....
A Very very very basic question....
Where is the latest version of SC? The download link from the online creator all has filedates from 2004. SCIII discussions are apparently closed. I'd think it's dead, then Rudi posts a file called PCHelpware. Maybe I should be asking what the latest SC is called? Does anyone have an actual link to the latest SC?
Re: A Very very very basic question....
well that is a very good question
There are 3 type of single click
Stardard Single click
Single Click III that uses port 443 the SSL port
and The Newest Version PCHelpware
As far as I know all versions are currently still active. The Newest would be the PChelpware

Re: A Very very very basic question....
PCHelpware replace SC
I think any others previous SC stopped no body help with code source update ...
There too much external developers take and won't give back anything about their update/fix their have/made found.
Rudi don't want continue to work only one way ... so you and me can understand why there stop any others previous software SC open source.
open source should be 2 ways works. exchange source code/idea...
sorry for the long story...

PcHelpWare Beta is released as Freeware, don't ask for the sourcecode as it will not be released.
How can you release PHW as Freeware while UltraVnc is GPL ?
PHW is a complete rewrite, no rfb protocol and no backward compatiblity with vnc. All new, but a lot of code was extracted from an other commercial project, so bugs should be minimal.

Re: A Very very very basic question....
I think it's real slimy that commercial developers take VNC, pretty it up, and sell it as their own product. I suppose it's better to have a decent SC with no source, than an old buggy SC with source, which only developers debug, then keep for themselves...
So, is there a PCHelpdesk FAQ? Is it similar to SC in that you can configure your own server? Does it work with UltraVNC, or is there a different viewer? Does it work with the repeater, or have it's own repeater?

you need to read all posts of topics above before post your questions already answered... FAQ coming later.
