x64 Vista Mirror Driver

Post by adamt »

This should probably go in the Mirror Driver Dev forum, but I don't get access to it, so here goes...

..how will UltraVNC handle the problem of video mirror drivers on x64 Vista platforms? I understand that Microsoft won't sign mirror drivers, because they're not hardware (according to the DameWare site). Vista on x64 will require all drivers to be signed -okay, so there's a boot.ini switch, but I can't see too many people wanting to blow holes in their Windows installation just to run one driver.

Not a huge concern right now, having never even seen Vista x64 machine (yet), but surely in future it will need addressing? I'd be interested to know how this might be tackled, as UltraVNC has been something of a godsend.

It's not true, mirror drivers can be signed for 2000/XP/2003.
We did it many times.
