Failed to connect to server. Firewall or something else?

Post by pictor »

I'm trying to access my PC from Work.

I installed the server and it works with Loopback connections.
The Sygate Firewall is set to let VNCserver access the net.
I also created a rule to allow all incoming/outgoing traffic for/from VNCserver.

But it doesn't work!

At home I have a router to access internet (but I have already opened the 5800/5900 ports years ago, when I used RealVNC) and either from work I'm part of a Local Area Network.

I can ping my PC but I cannot access to it!

Where could be the problem?
What should I check?

Thank you a lot!

try to applicate this solution to your service winvnc.exe (VNC Server)
your winvnc is running to early before your firewall is ready.
