installing UltraVNC besides tightVNC, no problem ?

Post by Czerno »

Hi All !

I am already a user of TightVNC under Windows (2k & 98).
I would like to try Ultra, for the encryption facility. May I just install Ultra besides Tight, or should i uninstall tVNC first ? Or just disable some drivers ? How to... in brief ?

Any interworkings possible (without the encryption, of course) ?

I am very pleased with tight I must say, except that it does not (yet) offer trafic encryption. I am sure Ultra is good also, it's just I do not want to mess the installs...

Sorry if this is in the FAQs, I did browse but can't say I saw everything...

TYVMIA

It will only work when you run ultravnc as application
"There can only be One" service

ultravnc.exe -multi

This start ultravnc app together with an other version
port is 5901 for ultra and other version keep running on 5900

... 'listening viewer' feature available with Ultra ?

Post by Czerno »

Rudi, thank you very much. I have got another lame, but to me crucial before I even think of downloading the Ultra, and viz. :

Does UltraVNC have the "listening viewer" feature, aka reverse connections, available ?
