No-Click VNC?

Post by Suntzu »

My problem is that I can get a connection to my work computer, but I have to physically go to my work ahead of time to open the SC file I have set up, and then I just leave my home computer in VNC viewer listen mode and I get a connection. The thing is, sometimes I lose the connection, meaning I have to go back to my work which defeats the purpose of working at home.

Until I get a laptop, is there any way that I can have my work computer automatically open my SC file at a certain time? I tried using Windows "Scheduled Tasks" but that only opens the file, it doesn't click buttons once it's opened which I need.

I did however notice that I can even have my computer hibernating and it will wake-up when there is a scheduled task, which works out great for me.

But there is still the problem of that one click, is there any way I can get my SC file to be a NC (No Click) file?

use UltraVNC Server 1.0.2 instead UltraVNC SC 1.0 light !
then you can use winvnc as service full feature and control available and autoreconnect feature greatly improved.

Also, you can be disconnect for any reason, you connected again as soon network up or vncviewer -listen running again
(you should wait 20 sec before vnc viewer able to see vnc server)

pre-requesite:
winvnc running as service
change scheduled tasks
%programfiles%\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe -autoreconnect -connect localhost::5500
or
%programfiles%\UltraVNC\winvnc.exe -autoreconnect ID:12345 -connect localhost::5500

please replace localhost::5500 with the appropriate IP or hostname or FQDN and port and don't forget double colons if you don't use standard port.
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
