Change of IP addresses of computers behind a router

Post by Kenwong »

Perhaps a stupid question.

Would it be possible that, after the computers and/or the router reboot (for whatever reasons), the IP addresses assigned by the router to the computers change and the port forwarding settings are not changed automatically, and therefore VNC viewer fails to connect to the servers?

Any methods to make the connections still work even though the network reboots?

Thanks.

Depending on your routers you can reserve the ip address. Netgear routers can reserve ips. Not sure about other models and makes of routers. You could always make the pcs use static ips instead of dynamic ip addresses
