Hello everybody.
I will look silly I know, but whatever, I try it.
I've read everything and I try to configure my own .exe
Everything are fine, but in the final, when a friend double click on the line, everything are fine on his pc, but i never received any pop-up ask me if I want yes or no remote his pc.
On the helpdesk.txt they insert a IP:port 192.168.1.xx:5500
Is it really the port 5500 that we need to insert ?
What about the IP Address is it mine (i make the remote control) or the client, double click on our .exe ?
What about if the client do not have the port 5500 open ?
Is it a standard port open ?
Thank you in advance for your response.
Joe

Re: UltraVNC SC - Configuration of the helpdesk.txt
On the helpdesk.txt they insert a IP:port 192.168.1.xx:5500
This will only work in a LAN environment
That is the default port I would stick with that until you are more familar on how single click works..Is it really the port 5500 that we need to insert ?
Single click is a reverse connection so basically it needs the host name of your location to connectWhat about the IP Address is it mine (i make the remote control) or the client, double click on our .exe ?
What about if the client do not have the port 5500 open ?
Is it a standard port open ?
You will need to open port 5500 in your router and point it to the viewers ip.
Is this friend in the sam lan as you??
If not you need to setup dyndns or noip.com account into your router and change the helpdesk file to your assigned host name from that account and forward the ports on your local IP..

Single click is a reverse connection so basically the remote computer is calling yours to connect..
This may help as well

Re: UltraVNC SC - Configuration of the helpdesk.txt
Hello all, I've been reading the above post and have a couple fo questions of my own:
I've configured port forwarding on my router. I've made myself the sc.exe file. I can see how that all works. What I have done differently is put our public IP address (a static) in the helpdesk connect box. I can't see otherwise how remote users needing support could connect to the supporting person.
Is this right? If it is, how then do I configure the helpdesk file to send requests to different PCs for different users? Open a different port for each support person?
Basically, is there a way to say "send everything VNC to here" then a sort of "ah yes, you want Callum, he's on 192.168.1.4, Mike on .7..."
Also - and sorry for the stupid Q, how do I set up VNC Server? to listen to requests?
Many thanks,
Nick

Re: UltraVNC SC - Configuration of the helpdesk.txt
try SC locally between 2 computers on same LAN, then, you don't need an answer to this question...how do I set up VNC Server? to listen to requests?

Re: UltraVNC SC - Configuration of the helpdesk.txt
Hi - sorry, we're not all as clever!
I did that, got a lovely smart connection, but the system wouldn't accept mouse or keyboard input...
What am I doing wrong? I assumed it would all "just work"?
Edit: I disconnected, reconnected - everything appears to work fine now. We'll start remote testing later. Does the remote router need to have port forwarding on 5500?
