SCIII and UVNC.COM:443 Let me make sure I understand it!

Post by MrChris »

based on the post here [post=13945][/post] I was able to the other day get it to work. I just want to make sure I understand how to use it.

I give the winvcn.exe package with the helpdesk.txt file to someone that need me to remote to there machine. When they launch winvnc.exe they type in ANY ID number they want. for example 1234567890 and when it says its waiting.... I then open up the vncviewer_ssl.exe viewer and connect to repeater UVNC.COM:443 with the host set to ID:1234567890 and whhaa-llaaaa. Its connected.

Also There is no need to open/forward any ports on the firewall/router on either side of the connectin?

What if the uvnc.com repeater goes down?

If this is correct then dang this is sweet. The other day this was working fine. But today and last night when I would launch the viewer_ssl.exe and hit connect it would sit there at Negciating Protocal version and then time out. Could this be becuase I am missunderstanding how this works or did the uvnc.com repeater have issues?

Thanks,

MrChris

you understand how it work but now should be an issue of uvnc.com

remember:
you can't count about uvnc.com otherwise just for test.
don't count for business.
Also There is no need to open/forward any ports on the firewall/router on either side of the connectin?
For most firewall, there no need to open any port.
only some strong firewall need open outgoing port.

for your business,
you need to host your own repeater_ssl to your own managed server.

What if the uvnc.com repeater goes down?
no connexion possible.

How can I host? I tried to use uvnc.com:443, it worked perfectly; there was "instant" connection.
What should I do in order to be able to make use of mydomain.com:443. What will be the steps for this. Which files will I have to upload and other detailed instructions...

Thank you very much.

- repeater_ssl aka distributer5 (but not yet up to date like repeater 1.2.2.1)
- yes, you can host your own repeater_ssl at your own prefered place (ports 443 need to be opened on your firewall/NAT for use with Internet

files:
http://sc.uvnc.com/SCIII/repeaterII/

install repeater_ssl almost like repeater, follow step by step by bevtech
[topic=4798][/topic]

+ put CERTIFICATE.PEM on folder of repeater_ssl.exe or distributer5.exe
+ open single port 443

Dear Redge,

Can you please be more specific.
I do not know where to upload these files on my webspace and, by the way, distributor5 shows a C++ runtime error.

Thanks :-*

I do not know where to upload these files on my webspace
not possible !
install to your own managed server, not web server ! web server not allow service like repeater

if you don't have ability to have your own managed server,
install to your own computer for host the repeater_ssl and open port 443 to your router/firewall
