SC is driving me bonkers

Post by MrChris »

OK Im not sure if I am even able to do this or not but here is my thought.

There are 3 networks...
All of them NATed....

I setup a Repeater on my network that is NATed but my router has a DNS name visiable to the world, where I forward what ever port I need to over to my host that is running the repeater.

I am on any given network at any given time that is NATed but have internet access from. Where I connect to my Repeater via port 80.

The PC I want to remote runs a SC Server that I have configured to connect to my Repeater and wait for me "from what ever network I may be on" to launch the viewer and also point to my repeater, where the repeater then really just connects both the server and the viewer together.

So really there is not winvnc.exe or vncviewer.exe running on the same network that the repeater is on.

My theory here is to have the repeater just connect us both up via winvnc.exe port 80 to the repeater. I then open up a viewer and do the same and BAM.

This way all the customer has to do is open a SC file and do really nothing shy of plug in a pin number or somthing, And if I am at a site where I I cannot get access to the router and such to open ports and what not I can still connect to the PC and all is good.

Does this make sence?

Is this what the Repeater is for or no? Or is this what the NAT2NAT is for.

I tried playing around with the NAT2NAT but didnt understand it.

OK I think that it looks like NAT2NAT is what I am looking for

Nat Viewer 2.0.0 and Nat Server 2.0.0. I read the Step by Step I found but m still lost. what is the best way to test this if I currently only have access to one LAN. I run winvnc.exe first with the setting in the step by step and that part is fine but when I open up Nat Server and type in a user/pass and hit connect nothing happens. I even tried to to the same with the Nat Server and Nat viewer with same user/pass and nothing. I hit connect and it just sits there.

Is there anyway I would setup my own NAT Helper? That does the same thing. That I can maintain?

old NSC and NVC should work trough public NAT Helper (NH) (not available for host your own NH)

Yes, that is exaclty what the repeater does

I think that the repeater would be better in your case. In fact, the NAT2NAT is NOT FOR single click anway….

Anway what you do is setup the repetar to run somewhere. Even on a home comtpuer is ok. Just rememaber a few things:

When you use the repeater, the victim who runs SingleClick (SC) will connect to your repater on a DIFFENT port then what you the helper (vncview) will use. So, just keep this in mind. (SC user, and vncview can’t connec to the repeater on the SAME prot…they MUST connect on a different port..and the repeater then glues them together..).

For the SC guy, I use port 80, since that has the MOST chance of being open. On my computer, I assume somewhat more control, and thus use the next most open port…the SSL port of 443….

So, on one of my home computers, I forwarded port 80, and 443 from the router to the computer running the repeater. Note that the computer is UN-affected by users that launch/use the browser on that computer. (big difference between the browser going out…and the port 80 coming in).

What this means is that I can be at a coffer shop, or even in a hotel with 25 other users all behind the same nat router (And the same IP address by the way), and my victim can also be behind a firewall at work, or wherever.

user simply clicks on SC…and away they go!!. No ip, no numbers…NO typing of nothing…just a click and go….

I can’t tell you how great the above is!! (in fact, it is EASIER then the many paid services since my user does NOT HAVE to type in any number…or nothing…Really nice!!!).

Since my vncviewer is ALWAYS connecting to the repeater of the same IP address, then again I never have to type in a new/differnt IP address either!!! I just placed a vnc shortcut (config file) on my desktop..and just click on it to help a client…

Really, the above approach is just so good…

So, as far as I know, you can’t use single click with the NAT2NAT anyway. …so, use the repeater if you going to use SC…

I have not yet come across a client of mine in which the above setup did not work.

Super Turtle.
