Heyaz. Am trying to connect UltraVNC Viewer 1.02 to UltraVNC Server 1.02, where the server is running in application mode, but the screen saver has kicked in, and the screen is now locked.
The Viewer connects, passes passsword authentication, and is then immediately disconnected. The WinVNC log file running on the server records this:
vncservice.cpp : SelectHDESK to Default ( 28 ) from 28
--The operation completed successfully.
vncservice.cpp : SelectHDESK failed to close old desktop 28 (Err=170)
--The requested resource is in use.
vncserver.cpp : Desktop init failed, unlock in application mode ?
--The operation completed successfully.
Any suggestions?

Just to emphasize: it works fine if the VNC Server is installed as a service, even when the PC is "locked". It just fails to accept sessions when it's running in standalone application mode, once the PC has locked.

teamviewer 1.73 had solved this issue

If TeamViewer is running as an application (not as a system service in host mode) Windows security regulations don't allow connections to the desktop if it is locked. This prevents access to the computer running TeamViewer.
For that reason TeamViewer will automatically disable the screen saver while it is running.
