MSRC4 v1.2.0.0 NOREG doesn't work with UVNC SC

I just updated the MSRC4 NOREG Plugin from v1.1.8.0 to v1.2.0.0 (I took it from the UltraVNC-102-Bin.zip) and compiled a new SC Exe. Of course I updated the plugin on my side I'm using with vncviewer, too. When a user is connecting with that new SC exe the connection will not established and the error message "Connection failed - invalid protocol" appears on my screen.

I downgraded the MSRC4 Plugin back to the previous version and all worked fine again. So, is this a known bug? My command line still is "vncviewer -listen 80 -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin.dsm" - nothing changed there.

The 1.2.0 plugin is compatible with old key files so it should work.
(I've switched to new plugin but kept my old key files and it works)

Shouldn't your command be:
"vncviewer -listen 80 -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_noreg.dsm" ?

Have you updated the plugin to 1.2.0 on both sides ?

I renamed MSRC4Plugin_noreg.dsm to MSRC4Plugin.dsm - so no mistake here. And yes, both sides have the updated Plugin. I've also tested it with a new 128 bit key file generated with v1.2.0 (on both sides of course) and it still doesn't work, but it does suddenly when replacing the v1.2.0 .dsm with the v1.1.8 .dsm file.

standard port for VNC reverse connection are 5500 trough 5599
80 is standard port for http but non standard port for VNC.

That's exactly the entry I'm using! So no mistake there, too.

Can you set up the machine to generate a logfile from the plugin. Send me the log files from both sides.

Seems like this is now a known bug with some operating systems ([topic=7077][/topic])

It doesn't work for me when connecting from WinXP Pro SP2 to Win2k Pro SP4. I'll generate a logfile soon and send it to you.

7-zip unziped the UltraVNC-102-Bin.zip at both side
and copy exactly same filename/date/content of my own rc4.key to SCI

XP SP2 at both side
The MSRC4Plugin_NoReg 1.2.0.0 available inside uvnc 1.0.2 work
tested again between SCI and vncviewer 1.0.2 fully working

There is a definite problem when Win 2000 is involved. I'll be looking into that as soon as I get some spare time.

I think there were 2 problems with the plugin and SC. The first was the encryption under 2000 was messed up. The second was that it wasn't asking for the password properly. Both were new problems I introduced in the code that were previously working.

Should be all set in 1.2.1
