Ultravnc Viewer Closing after entering password

Post by Guest »

hi,

at first, excuse my very very bad english.

if something can not be understood, just ask.

Home-Computer (Ultra-Server TEST19 is running;tried RC18 before, same Problem):
WinXp Home SP2
behind a Netgear RP614v2
Ports forwarded to my xp: 5800; 5900
XP Firewall deactivated
no software-firewall installed

Work-computer (ultra-viewer Rc18):
Winxp Prof SP1
behind a Netgear DG834GB

crypto-plugin is in use on both machines; same generated key is embedded.

If Im trying to connect to my home-computer via Viewer-Tool:
after typing in the password, the ultra-vnc start screen appears for a little moment, and the complete viewer programm crashes without a error.

if im trying from the same pc to connect via http java-viewer, i get the error "load: class vncviewer not found"; from this machine im only able to connect with my ip:5800.

if trying this from another-machine via browser i can connect with dyndnsacount:5800 ; i can type in my pw but then i get the error "network error: could not connect to dyndnsacount:5900".
but this machine is in a big company behind many firewalls etc. so i never thought that this is possible.

can anyone help me?

THX. marco[/pre]

after typing in the password, the ultra-vnc start screen appears for a little moment, and the complete viewer programm crashes without a error.
This happens when you run vnc as application and have the screen lock on. No crash, vncviewer is disconnected because
server has not the permission to show the logon window...
To be able to unlock a screen, vnc need to be running as service.

It sounds like the service is already running. Just go to properties on the tray icon and change the password. If you don't define a password, incoming connections are disabled. :|

fine, it now works!

but just one question again:

where can i change the settings of the service-version of ultra?
after the service started, i dont get the icon in the tray.
the settings i made for the non-service version arent in the service-version?

hello,

for everyone whos interessted:

i couldnt change the settings (etc. pw) for the service because i got the winvnc.exe from the test19 release.
so pw saved in the service wasnt the same password i had in the test19 winvnc.exe . i couldnt change the pw for service mode with running -servicehelper because the test19 exe in a rc18 installation.

sounds stupid, but ive tested so much the last few days that i didnt think about this as a problem!
