vnc authentication failed with dsmplugin_no_reg

Should you have problems with the DSM plugin? Here is the place to look for help or report issues

ok here is what problem I'm having also. I use UltraVnc with the DSM No_Reg pluggin and everything works fine till I reboot my PC. After the reboot, I can't connect anymore, it says Authentification Failed and I would have to setup a new password and use the new rc4.key and then it works fine.

Any ideas why?

I'm bringing back an old thread. Here is the problem that I've been having for a while. Everytime i reboot my PC, I can't connect to the VNC Server. I have to manually go into the task manager , shutdown the winvnc server, then restart it again and it works fine. Any ideas please?

This is an easy one. You didn't follow the instructions!!!

Since you didn't follow the instructions, now you get a history lesson. Starting with plugin version 1.1.2 a bug in the plugin was fixed that required the plugin to be reset after each connection. Before this change the plugin wasn't using the Crypto API quite right. Version 1.1.2 fixed this. This change required a change in the UltraVNC Server. The Server has to reset the plugin after each connection. This change was introduced in UltraVNC RC19-5. Any version of UltraVNC RC19-5 or greater will work with the plugin version 1.1.2 or greater.

Short Answer: You need to use UltraVNC RC19-5 or later and you won't have this problem!!!
