UltraVncSC REL1.00 Online Creator broken
UltraVncSC REL1.00 Online Creator broken
The online creator tool is currently not putting the LOGO.BMP file correctly into the downloadable .EXE file. The resulting .EXE still works fine, but just has an empty space where the logo should be. I first noticed this about a week ago; still not working today...
how do you include your personalized files ?
all files must be at same level without folders.
\logo.bmp <-- correct
or
\custom\logo.bmp <--- wrong
check your zipped file is nothing change by mistake.

Yup, I checked and double checked.
In fact to be really sure I got an old copy of the original .ZIP file from September of last year off my backup drive - the exact same zip file that had worked before - it also didn't work.
Let me know if you want me to email or post the .ZIP so you can check for yourself. Thanks.

Checked some creations and logo is displayed..
It has to be something specific in your zip file.
Please tell the name of the zip file you use (within 48 hours of creation,
auto remove every 2 days of all uploads)
You can also extract with 7zip the created exe, in that folder you need to
see all files you uploaded. This is also the fastest way of checking the
config systax.

Ok, after (lots of) trial & error here is what I have come up with...
The problem is not actually in the creation of the exe itself; it has something to do with the the way it is displayed. I can best explain by example:
I just created & uploaded the file "test999.zip". It is nothing more than the "custom.zip" file downloaded directly from the SC website and renamed. When executed on my computer, the logo file doesn't display. When run on any other computer that I have tried it displays fine.
(I should mention that I am currently in Lithuania and only have access to this one computer at the moment. When I am in the USA I have access to dozens.)
Anyway, this also explains why the exact same zip file that I used before from the USA seemed to be broken now - the logo would display fine when executed on my computer in the states, but here in Lithuania it doesn't.
Of course my fist thought was that the problem was just some kind of strange incompatibility with this particular laptop or a bug in the video driver, but here is the kicker - the same zip file (test999.zip) when uploaded to the "UltraVncSC based on RC23" works just fine. Hence, there must be some small difference in the way the two creator tools work when displaying the logo from the exe.
I know (think) English is not the primary language here so I hope everyone can follow all that. Let me summarize as best I can:
The test999.zip that I just uploaded when used with "UltraVncSC based on RC23" creates an .EXE that works fine on every machine I've tested it on. The same test999.zip when used with "UltraVncSC based on REL1.00" creates an .EXE that works fine on every machine I've tested it on *except* the one I am on now. On this one no logo is displayed.
For info, this is an Acer laptop w/SiSM661MX video, WinXP SP2, all current updates. I tried changing color depth and resolution with no luck.
Since I've discovered that this odd little bug only seems to effect this laptop for me it has become no big deal. But if the bug is really with this particular laptop, why does SC23 work fine? Also, looks like Redge had the same problem so I'll leave it to you guys to decide if it is worth checking further. I will be out of the country for a few days but will check this thread when I return to see if I can help with anything.
Thanks.
