UltraVNC 1.0.1 Setup: is video driver already included?

Post by Zane »

When I install UltraVNC 1.0.1 via setup, does it already include the video driver or should I dl+install the driver manually afterward?

And... where is the driver isntalled? in the %windir% or in the same folder of vnc? Does the driver need to be registered or it works simply putting it in the VNC folder?

Thanks!

The video driver is not included in the 1.01 setup because it is not compatible with 9X.

You have to install it after you install 1.01 from the following location you can just run the setup.exe and it will install it for you

Why not to include it and to lock its installation on Win9x OSs?
It is very easy to do with IS!

When I install UltraVNC 1.0.1 via setup, does it already include the video driver
added to ultravnc 1.0.2 test
[topic=6376][/topic]

because is a video hook driver most of files are installed to %windir%\system32
and some others files are placed to:
%programfiles%\UltraVNC\driver
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer

Uhmm, today I found a very strange thing installing Ultra "normally" (I use to install it unattended)

Image

If the driver is not included, why does the setup ask me if I want to install "UltraVNC Mirror Driver"?

It is not included in the setup.exe however, if you choose via options then it will download and install it at the same time you are installing UVNC
