Cannot connect to friend's computer, stopped working

Post by DodgeV83 »

I don't know what was changed. All I needed to do before was http://<ipaddress>:5800 and I would connect, but now it isn't working. I cannot ping the ip address or telnet to the port.

When I'm on that computer I can still connect to MY VNC server on this computer.

What can I do?

Edit: Something else I forgot to mention. When I put in the IP address and port on my friend's computer (loopback connection to connect to the server on my friend's computer) it works perfectly. It doesn't work on any other computer :-/

try restarting the server, check for any changes in any firewalls..

if you cant ping the other comp, something is wrong beyond the vnc.

if it works on the other computer but not on any others does that pretty much mean it has to be a firewall?
