NAT port forward in router: Only 1 port necessary or a range

Post by thoste »

My winvnc.exe is running behind a router and listening
to ports 5800 and 5900.

I have access to the router configuration.

Do I have to setup exactely these two ports for forwarding
or are the neighbor ports used as well?
I am not sure but I remember a situation/software
where neighbor ports are necessary as well.

In other words: Do I have to NAT forward a range
5800,5801,5802
and
5900,5901,5902

or only the ports 5800 and 5900

?
