Quick description of UVNC?

Hi

I need to add remote control to our apps so that customers can simply click on a button, and have WinVNC connect out though the Internet over broad-band connections to a viewer running on one of our support hosts.

I'm a bit confused about the following things, and would be grateful if experienced UltraVNC users could give me a quick answer to each question:

- Can UVNC be deployed only as a stand-alone EXE to be downloaded, or do users have to run an installer?

- In case a stand-alone EXE is available, I see that UVNC provides a video driver ("Video Hook Driver (aka Mirror Driver)"): Is that really needed or can I do without?

- what do the following add-ons do: Repeater, SingleClick packager, Nat to Nat connector?

Our customers are all behind firewalls, hence the need for their server to dial out to our viewer, but our support hosts are also behind firewalls, and we have multiple support hosts.

Our customers are all behind firewalls... support hosts are also behind firewalls,

SCIII necessary for authenticate to Internet Options proxy of your customers. Squid proxy appear not (yet) supported

you need host repeater_ssl on DMZ and open to public Internet port 443
or
forward port 443 to your repeater_ssl of your private network.

vncviewer_ssl for your support staff

OK. I read this and the rest of the UVNC site. It appears we'll just use port forwarding on our end, and pop up a window on the server side asking which support host they wish to let drive their computer (host = IP address + port #).

Less CPU usage of vnc server and faster video responsive.

Thanks. CPU usage is no big deal, but it might solve the issue I witnessed yesterday on an Server XP + Client W2K, namely that I had to hit the Refresch Screen button every time to update the server screen.
