Nat to Nat Setup Help

Post by airsmith006 »

Ok folks, bear with me, I am new to the forums and hope I posted in the right area.
Here's my dilemma:
I am a private consultant and am starting to use VNC to help my customers remotely. As is typical of us computer geeks, we also wind up helping friends, family, etc.
I am having challenges constantly setting up VNC through routers I am not familiar with, as well as dynamic IP addressing issues.
I am interested in N2N, but couldn't find information on how to connect (or even find) a Nat Helper (NH) listed.
My questions:
1. Can I set up my own NH?
2. If so, where do I find information on setting it up
3. Can it be set up on a Windows 2000 or 2003 server?
4. If not, how do I find a NH?
5. How do I know what U/N and P/W to use?
Any help in setting up a N2N would be appreciated. The idea is if someone contacts me on the phone needing help, I can have them download UltraVNC N2N, install, and then point them to a NH which I can then remote control them through that connection. Clean and doesn't require port forwarding on the router and I don't have to walk them through finding their public IP.
Thanks in advance for your help
Kevin

1. No (not yet, but planned, don't ask when !)
2. Not Applicable
3. Sure, but not now, see 1.
4. NVC and NSC built NH address hardcoded until beta coming
address of NH is documented = 216.55.178.47
http://sc.uvnc.com/index.php?section=21

5. like 4. is documented... just read again.
(you choice your own user/password when you want to use it , don't need to be subscribed before use it)

For your job, is better to create SingleClick aka SC, remote support on demand.
you, your viewer listening reverse connection from singleclick(winvncsc) you made and give to your customers/family/friends, their click on it then connected to your viewer and you can control computer of your customer.

but if you prefer classic connection to winvnc and use nat2nat
you can try new Nat2Nat 2.0.0
available inside UltraVNC 1.0.2

UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home
only experienced user, not developer
