Wont 'accept socket connections'

Post by sims »

so my VNC has been working fine for the past month. Now I get this very strange issue where it wont "save" the setting to accept connections.

I turn it on - hit apply - ok
open it back up - accept connections is turned off again.

uninstalled from add/remove
rebooted
reinstalled
same issue..

ideas???

try it to change by regedit
My computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORL\WinVNC3\Default
Name type value
SocketConnect REG_DWORD 1
UltraVNC 1.0.9.6.1 (built 20110518)
OS Win: xp home + vista business + 7 home

I have this same problem. UltraVNC seems to only want to go into 'listening' mode if I use certain ports. I want to set it to ports 80 and 443 so I can get past my workplace's firewall, but when I try those ports no's the section gets 'greyed out' and UltraVNC won't go into 'listening' mode.

Any solution?
