Win2K Cross-Domain Authentication.

Post by Sylv »

Hi!

I suspect this is a software limitation that I am running into, but please take a look at my scenario and let me know if there is a way to make this work.

I have two domains, a parent domain called 'Parent' (internal.parent.com) and a child domain called 'Child' (child.internal.parent.com). I have several servers that live in the 'Parent' domain, and three servers that live in the 'Child' domain. All of our users and groups exist in the 'Parent' domain.

Any servers that reside in the 'Parent' domain work with the MS Logon authentication, using a new group that I defined in the 'Parent' domain called 'VNC'. My problems come in with the 'Child' domain. I would like to be able to use that same 'Parent' domain group with my servers in the 'Child' domain, but it isn't working for me. I'm not sure if I'm not specifying the FQDN properly, or if this is a software limitation.

Any advice on this topic would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you very much for this link! After the new MS Logon was installed, I was able to configure the DOMAIN\GROUP in the MS Logon area, and it works perfectly.
