Have two machines. Both behind nat. This is how they are set-up.
10.0.0.4 ( connecting machine running viewer software ) --> Router ( with public IP ) --> Internet --> Router ( with public IP ) forwarding to 5900 on Ultra VNC Server with IP = 10.0.0.40.
Using encryption plugin with same keys on each machine.
Once managed to connect momentarily but that was it. 99% of time hangs on small grey connection window and does not seem to make contact.
Anyone any ideas ?
Regards,
John

Ideas? um, Try the java viewer, check allow loopback connections, force it to a slower speed (not auto), try without the plugin, try rc11, and the test19 too. Wait for someone else that also uses ultra in a setup like yours to give pointers.
Try to test that the router is actually forwarding the port correctly. ie, Setup it for something else that uses another port, and make sure its working right.

VNC server will listen for connections from a web-browser on TCP port "5800+N", where N is as above. If you point a web-browser to this port, the VNC server will automatically provide a Java VNC viewer that runs right in your web-browser. This Java Viewer will then exchange data with the VNC Server on the same ports a normal VNC Viewer would use: "5900+N".
