encryption needed?

Post by Arnie_75 »

Hi there,
do I need the encryption for safety reasons for all transfers or is it just needed for chat purposes?

In other words: Is UltraVNC safe to use when only the password is used?

vnc password is enough safe and very difficult to hack if some conditions are respected:
  • 8 complex alpha numerical caracters
  • 32 caracters alpha numerical allowed from UltraVNC with MS-Logon feature but only work within UltraVNC viewer and server.
very difficult and long for hacking xAd8-2n or My_1WiFi
very easy to hack 12345678 or abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz123456)

Encryption is only necessary for:
  • secure and confidential business
  • paranoiac home users
  • make safety network connection on public Internet
(if you don't want someone (hacker) listen your network communication transmitted on the public Internet (because data are not encrypted if you don't use dsmplugin)
I use DSMplugin for show to my friends and to explain to ultravnc users the possibily of safety usage of UltraVNC but for my personal usage, I don't use it,
I'm not paranoiac man for private usage and don't want slowdown the remote control or remote support with the encryption plugin.

Encryption is needed . . .

Sniffer programs are PRE PROGRAMMED to steal VNC passwords and decode them on 1 easy step . . . Always use the latest version of a encryption plugin
