Cannot connect outside network?
Cannot connect outside network?
I have SC working great inside my network and with other VPN's within our company, but I'm not able to connect to a user at their home.
If they are running the EXE do they still need to open port 5500 (or whatever port I have setup), on their firewall?
Seems that if they initiate it the firewall shouldn't need to be modified?
End user has XP using NAT -> I have static/routable IP.
I've completely opened port 5500 on my side without any luck.
Suggestions?

id = identification numberwhat to put for
-id? What is the function of this switch?
id number is for connect partners and groups
(sales staff, remote support staff, etc...)
you (vnc viewer) and SCII or SCIII (customer) with same number

before add repeater to your network,
(maybe you don't really need it because some ISP block ports >1024)
viewer network side
just try it to open port 443 TCP instead port 5500 TCP and modify your SC to connect on port 443
SC step to do
modify your SC with new winvnc from SCIII and update helpdesk.txt
-------------------------------------------
[HOST]
Internet remote support non standard port SC
-connect hostname.mydomain.com::443 -noregistry
[DIRECT]
--------------------------------------------
don't forget double "::" without quote
from command line vncviewer listening on port TCP 443 and create shortcut for easy
start ... Run...
"%programfiles%\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -listen 443

just modify the helpdesk.txt for port 443 to your own custom.zip before compile and continue as before you made your SC !

Okay, I changed it back to one support person, but I'm getting the following error message on my PC when I start the EXE from an end user PC. (I'm listening on port 443)
Connection failed - Invalid protocol !
Possible causes:
- You've forgotten to select a DSMPlugin and the Server uses a DSMPlugin
- Viewer and Server are not compatible (they use different RFB protocoles)
I tried the viewer that came with SCIII (vncviewer_ssl.exe), and the viewer that came with UltraVNC, but I get the same error with both.
Any ideas?

Are you using correct syntax for the [HOST] ?
-connect hostname.mydomain.com::443 -noregistry
I never know existing this build anywhere.
like SC20.3 and SC1.0.0 and like example of SingleClick.

-connect hostname.mydomain.com::443 -noregistry
This is a new product ?SC111.

repeater ?
No, remove -id 12345 from [HOST]
Yes, so you need vncviewer connect to repeater port 5901 (not listening) and VNC server: ID:12345 like picture below and replace localhost by your ip address 168.215.186.45 must be the repeater address only
repeater_ssl necessary(I've tried it with -sslproxy switch as well)
-id 12345 -sslproxy -connect 168.215.186.45::443 -noregistry
you must have downloaded certificate.pem to repeater_ssl folder
