Non-Detectable??

Post by Random_Thoughts »

I was trying to install this program to monitor my Younger Sister's Internet Use. But she keeps finding the program and uninstalls it. I have hid the program from the Add/Remove Program List in the Registy and have used different file Destinations to install in, But no matter Where I put it She Seems To find it. Is there a way to totally install as service without the posibilty of finding it with a File Search (Because I'm sure she knows the programs name by now). Any Information would be Helpful.

any VNC is not intended for watching anybody without their aknowledge but only known as usage for remote control or remote support by users informed about their watched from someone.
otherwise would be breaking liberty and policy.

Nobody want bad thing about bad usage of any VNC software

For watching someone hidden without permission of the owner their fews software (but anyway not VNC) like backorifice known as virus threat or other commercial product unknown here.

with windows NT/2000/XP/2003 is unpossible to hide winvnc service but the only way to restrict access is to limit right access to their own computer.
But she would not happy with restrictions computer of their own computer. :|

if she need real help from you, you can create SingleClick and she can lunch it when she need assistance from you.

Thanks, But I already did some research and found a way to completely hide it. I appreciate your response. I hid it from programs list, ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS List, Tray Icon, as well as made Server and Repeater both do this without the possibilty of shutting down and being able to access it from anywhere.

She could still detect the presence of a VNC server.

First do a netstat -an and check all listening ports.

Then telnet or netcat to each port to check for the tell-tale RFB greeting.

With tcpview from sysinternals.com you can see which exe files use which IP ports, and you can kill the connections or the process.

If you are using a listening hidden service, she can delete or modify the ORL registry keys to obstruct you.

If you are using a hidden process, which regularly spawns a reverse SC connection, it is a little harder, but once you are connected, she can still spot you and find the EXE name with tcpview, and process explorer from sysinternals will track the parent process for her.

Since you obviously have a game going with your sister, why not show her this info and even the odds a little. You should be proud if your bullying forced her to become a geek, right

Reason behind the mask........

Post by Random_Thoughts »

Well I actually have a problem with her cause she is my sister-in-law...... Need I say more? Futhermore she keeps trying to cause issues with me so I decided to gather a little dirt of hers on my own

So let's just say I'm evening the odds enough, eh? I Don't think she knows about netstat, Cause DOS is a far too complex thing for her..
she just uses smaller things she finds on the net through google. but the only reason I had to go through such big depths is cause when I first installed UltraVNC I forgot to clear the Recent Documents list. How Amature right? But she found the hidden files prolly by searching the HD for them. But I changed alot of things to make sure it won't happen again.

Yes, it is true I can't hide the active connection, but she won't be able to find VNC the way I installed it or the Repeater for that fact. So as far as all that goes I'm satisfied with my research.

This is definitely off topic and not my business, but anyway:

I really don't think your spying will solve any "issues",
and you'll probably make relations even more difficult
and put your "better half" in a painful squeeze.

But of course you are aware of that
