Hello,
I have the Ultra VNC server installed on a computer and have successfully taken control of it using a different computer via the http login (e.g. http://IPaddress:5800 )
I configured my wireless router for port forwarding.
I disabled my firewalls & determined my current IP address (cable modem). IP address changes but for testing, I used the current one.
I generated the SC exe file and ran it on a client computer.
Server computer prompts to Accept the connection then nothing happens on either the client or server computers.
I was expecting to see a new window open on the server showing the client screen but zilch.
Any ideas what I might be doing wrong or need to change?
( mom needs computer help in another state ).
Thanks,
Kevin

javaviewer can't listen
as my knowledge, there no ActiveX open source
only a paid service ActiveX can listening your SC or winvnc
see vnc-related products
[topic=3542][/topic]
for opensource solution
you can receive incoming connection from SC to only UltraVNC viewer !
or
any outgoing connection from classic winvnc to any classic vncviewer
default port for vncviewer listening is 5500 and not 5800 !!!
http://localhost:5800 is for direct connection to classic winvnc only !

I thought I had it figured out but maybe not...
SC should allow me to create a .exe file and share it with someone else. They should be able to click on it to connect with me so I can take over their computer. Right?
I created the SC.exe file and ran it on a 2nd machine. I clicked "Internet Support" and it connects to my primary computer. A prompt shows up to Accept or Reject the connection. I click Accept and nothing happens on either machine.
It sounds like I need to be running the UltraVNC viewer (not the server) on my primary computer to accept the connection from the 2nd machine running the SC.exe file. Is that what you mean?
If so, what do I type into the VNC Server field to have it connect?
Thanks,
Kevin

Thank You redge... you are my hero
It works now.
From where I was before,
I simply rebuilt the SC.exe using port 5500
configured the port forwarding of my wireless router to include 5500
used the Start Run command provided in your previous post to start the viewer listening on that port
shut off the firewalls.
2nd computer clicks on SC.exe, primary is prompted to accept connection, --- 2nd computer's screen shows up and ready to control.
Very Cool.
