loosing connection
Sometimes I have a problem with loosing a connection to a clients machine as soon as it is started. I see the monitor of the client (1 second) and then it crashes. I use SC with port 80 and encryption. The problem happens with ADSL and also with DialIn connections. I don't have any idea for this problem. Can somebody help me? Thank you!
Dial up--- I can never get to work
ADSL maybe unstable causing you the grief.. If the packets get lost then you maybe losing your connection..

Loosing Connection
I use single click for support from several sites.
One client I have (which was working OK) has started to drop the connection after about 1 second also. These guys are on ADSL. I have had to resort to a web conferncing tool instead which COSTS!
They are runnng Norton Internet Security (current version) which may be the cause - I think that they may have been running a previous version up to now.
Any suggestions?

Hello, all...
i have the same effect, like described above. SingleClick works very fine under 98, me, Xp, ADSL, Cable and even 56k modem. Only with ONE client(XP sp2), connection for one second and thats all.
i hope someone can fix that
thanks for help!

well you can try a few things.
1.) First check and see if the worm protection in norton is causing the issue??
2.) try using ports lower then 1024. It seems that a lot of ISP are slowing down traffic on ports higher than 1024 to combat P2P networking and file sharing programs..
3.) See if you can use SCIII ( in beta now)

Re: loosing connection --> solution
I was having the same problems mentioned above. Desktop showed up for one second, then connection was terminated. I tried the suggestions above but none worked.
I found a solution:
The machine running SC (Win XP SP2) had a non-standard cursor (control panel --> mouse) installed. After changing the cursor to a standard one, it worked fine. In fact, the cursor that was previously installed wasn't selectable anymore after I changed the cursors.
Has anybody a technical explanation for this?
I'm glad it works now and hope it may help somebody.

edit: I was able to reproduce the connection loss by choosing the 3D bronze cursor in control panel --> mouse.

Re: loosing connection
I also have this problem with a PC running on German WinXP SP2. UVNC SC worked on that PC already some time ago but suddenly it stopped working with the same problems you described. I never could track it down why it stopped working some day. I just gave it up. But now I will try the "standard mouse cursor" solution on that PC - I will give feedback here when I tested it.

Re: loosing connection
Now I can confirm that the "3D-White" cursor broke UVNC SC. With the standard cursor all works fine again. So, any update planned for this? I think thats a serious bug and should be handled and solved with priority.
Re: loosing connection
This might explain an issue I have seen with the standard Viewer/Server. With 3D Bronze pointers on the server, if I select Auto the connection crashes. But, if I choose LAN, it works fine. I suspect that SC is using Auto ...
