Chaning server password remotely

Post by Embassy »

Hi,

I need some help; I have an old vaio laptop with a broken screen and Win98SE installed. I had used an external monitor to set it up, but unfortunatly the keyboard/mouse and all the ports including vga and usb have all stopped working. I had UntraVNC installed and working, and used it to control the laptop remotely, but for 3 months haven't used it at all. The other day when I switched it back on I tried to connect to VNC, but stupid me, I've forgotten the password!

I can still access the laptop's hdd over my network, so, my question is, how exactly can I change the password remotely? I've tried Fastpush, but this requires 2K/XP on both boxes.

Any help would be appriciated!

Do you have the Microsoft Remote Registry Service installed on your Windows 98 machine?
