Reaching a client behind a router with VNC

Post by Senbo »

Hi,

it is no problem for me to connect to client which is directly connected with the internet.

But how can I connect to this client, when it is behind a router?

I know the IP which is assigned to the router by the ISP and the IP which is assigned to the client with DHCP by the router in the Lan something like 192.168.0.x.

At the moment I am using esVNC but after the study of this side I will switch to UltraVNC ;-)

Thanks a lot for your help.

Bye

Sven ;-)

PS: I have searched the forum for answer but I didn't know precisly which keywords would deliver the answer to my problem - sorry if it answered already somewhere than a link would be nice ;-)

This is what reverse connections, or SC is for. Its better if the client connects to you. That way they don't have to know how to reconfigure their NAT/Router to allow the VNC connection. YOU have to know how though.

Take a look at SC.
