Hi all I have setup vnc and a copy of SC to give to my clients and it all works great.
I currently do it all from home but would like the details on my laptop so at any time if I get a call I can just on a internet connection and help my clients out.
I use no-ip to get a static ip address which is what is in my sc.exe file and is fine and also at the end it has :5500.
now my question is if I jump onto someonelses internet connection I dont want to be fiddling around opening ports (5500) on their system to allow my incomming vnc listerner to work is there a way around this or not?
The ip address part is fine as I can use the no-ip update client to reflect the correct address, but its just the ports I want to get around.
I have even tried to use it on port 80 which is always available but I need to have something in the router to say which pc the viewer is listening on.
Hope this makes sense and someone may have an answer for me.
Cheers
Graham

Runing VNC Viewer on any pc
solution:if I jump onto someonelses internet connection I dont want to be fiddling around opening ports (5500) on their system to allow my incomming vnc listerner to work is there a way around this or not?
stop vncviewer listening and use it as classic viewer with ID and repeater mode II 1.1.0.3
but you need update your own SingleClick to use with your repeater and ID
so, you can help from anywhere because you and customer use outgoing connection to your repeater.

NO PORT FORWARDING WITH ULTRAVNC SC
I want to use my laptop with any internet connection without port forwarding if I am behind a router, and I want my clients to have my SC file for me to help them. I have been all through these forums, but I can't find a detailed way. I have found a couple topics for this, but nothing detailed. I have tried some of the suggestions on here, but none work.
Will someone please help???

you MUST have the port forwarding to use the SC.. otherwise how will the DCHP Server know where to send the VNC info to??
The easiest way around this is to have them download the VNC Server, set it up properly, and use the Viewer to view their computer..
OR you can read
http://doc.uvnc.net/nat2nat.html
Which will explain how to connect WITHOUT Port Forwarding, but is a bit more difficult.. Good luck!
