Please Generate Connection Buttons

Post by Guest »

hi there,

i configured & tested SC successfully via dyndns, with the online tool for making a personal exe it's quite easy to set up.

but on the first real-life test with a standard stupid user it fails: i had only one server für connection defined and he was unnable to klick the line. he always klicked in the white aere an got a message <No VNC Server selected>

i've done a simple workaround now, instead of:
>>> klick here to connect <<<

it looks now like this:
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
>>> klick here to connect <<<
not very professional, but currently the only chance to win against stupid users.

it would be great, if the availible connections would appears as clickable buttons. in most cases i think, you don't need 12 servers.

best regards,

supa

For only 1 server you have the option [DIRECT]

Using this option, the server auto connect after 1 sec and user don't need
to click.

If you have more then ONE, the user always need to select the correct
destination, even adding a "connect" button will not make it easier.

hi rudi:)

the workflow is the following:
the user clicks on a link on the webpage, he gets a windows-box what he want to do: open, save, cancel.

i think, it's nice that the user can see the <service-tool> before he confirm the connection, so he did not think that there are things he can not control.

best regards,

supa

perhaps each [HOST] could be represented by a text button?

maybe some can't grasp the idea double-clicking on text to get results unless it looks like a webpage :D

What about a dropdown menu to select the server and a "connect" button below it?
Windows users might be much more used to a dropdown menu that a list control.
