Hi.
Pretty often I transfer large text files... Some above 10 MB...
Is there any way to force File Transfer to compress the file before transfering it?
A 10MB text file can be zipped to about 300 KB...
Of course, I can compress the file myself and unpack it after the trasfer, but it would be great if UVNC will compress/decompress it itself
Thanks

Re: Force ZIP file at transfer
I'm quite sure UltraVNC does this already.mtz_ro_2003 wrote:Hi.

10 MB are sent much, much slower than a 300 KB file.
If I transfer the file uncompressed it takes, let's say 3 minutes. But if I compress the file and transfer just the compressed one it takes only 30 seconds...
Are you 100% sure that File Transfer compresses even a single file? I know that, whem you transfer a folder, it compresses the contents of the folder and transfer a single file... but what I'm asking is about one] file....

I am fairly sure that it zips single files as well. I am not sure about text files . I am hoping that Rudi or Sam can offer an assist on that question..
