Hi,
First of all thanks a lot for this great app... Especially the crypto plugin and the display driver are very inovativ...
But now I've got a problem, because I can't connect...
Yesterday I've downloaded UltraVNC 1.0.0 RC18 the newest video-driver and the crypto-plugin... I opend at my Zyxel HW650-31 the Ports 7900-7901 (TCP), 8900-8901 (TCP) and set NAT to pointing to my internal network-adress. I set UltraVNC to this ports and activated the crypto-plugin, http and the video-driver... I use Win XP Prof Eng. SP1
So no I'm here in office and tried to connect to my pc witz the viewer. It connects and the login popup comes... So now I've got the first question: I have to enter a login-name.. I never had the possiblity to define one in the server part of UltraVNC. Is that my Windows Log-On name or is there a default user name? If it is the Windows-Log-On name to I have to enter just "nd" or something like "excalibur\nd" because I'm really sure that I've entered the right password, but I can't connect, every time the message "autentification failed" occures....
My second question is: I tried to connect to my pc via webbroweser by entering URL http://xxxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx:8900 (wich is the HTTP port), the login occures and I only have to enter a password... I enter the password, but then I get a message:
Error: Host xxxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx port 7900 is not an RFB server...
I think thats strange, because I tried to connect to 8900 not 7900...
Here the Java console log:
------------------------------------------------------>
SecurityManager restricts session recording.
java.lang.Exception: Host xxxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx port 7900 is not an RFB server
at RfbProto.readVersionMsg(RfbProto.java:159)
at VncViewer.tryAuthenticate(VncViewer.java:355)
at VncViewer.connectAndAuthenticate(VncViewer.java:336)
at VncViewer.run(VncViewer.java:152)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
Error: Host xxxx.xxxxxxxxx.xxx port 7900 is not an RFB server
------------------------------------------------------>
It would be very nice if anybody can help me with my issues.
Greets and big THX from Switzerland,
Andy
PS: Is there a manual..? I never seen one...
PPS: Is it normal that when authentification fails that I can't connect again?
EDIT: I hat to set a password for my user... now it works with the client...
EDIT 2: HTPP still doesn't work... any ideas out there?

plz help: connection problem
> I think thats strange, because I tried to connect to 8900 not 7900...
the web server on #8900 itself actually doesn't work like a proxy, but all it does in this case is only providing Java client to be used to log into #7900 as well as your normal client connection. you need to open out those 2 ports when trying to set it up for web connection.

Connection problems are the hardest to solve and even give a
clue what is happening.
The order i use
+Disable mslogon and plugin
+Try connection in loopback mode, server+viewer+browser
If this is not working, nothing else will. (loopback need to be enabled in the properties server)
+Try the viewer and java viewer on a PC with a direct connection, cross cable, hub....
+Try again with plugin or mslogon if you gonna use it.
If local LAN is working, you can try a WAN connection.
If the WAN does not work, at least you are sure that vnc is OK and you need to check router/firewall settings
You can find some usefull info on the last part on
