UltraVNC 1.0.1 not accepting password or mirror driver

Post by mahjohn »

So I d/l the 1.0.1 setup, followed the install instructions from the website. I checked the boxes for the Server, Mirror Driver, and Viewer...then finishsed out the install.

I checked the service, and its running...so no problems their.

Launched the server app, and set the password in Admin Properties "WinVNC: Current User Properties". However, when I try to connect, all I get is that I can't connect as the server has no password set ? I also checked the Video Hook Driver....and that has NOT present, on two of the three..(driver not active...cos' i can't connect).

Server has been restarted.

So i'd be grateful if someone could tell me where i've screwed this up.....and if i'm a complete idiot...just say so..

ok...so the problem was that I was connected via Remote Desktop to the server when installing....doh !, I was able to successfully setup on another server.

but now I have another problem I don't have keyboards or monitors attached to a lot of my servers...so I'm thinking i'll need to export the registry keys from the good install to use for other machines ??

any thoughts...
