Track Connection Time

Post by R00st3r »

Is there a way to track the connection start and end time by ip address? This would be useful when billing clients (not for the software, but for my support time). There was one product called Remote Support Systems that worked like this, but traked the time, then emailed the customer a bill for the time used... I am not looking for that, but just to track the time.

vncviewer do not reported any connection/disconnection to event viewer
I see only vnc server and SC report it to event viewer - application as source UltraVnc

workaround not enough because there no time stamp start/stop at any level
start vncviewer -logfile filename.log -loglevel 0
http://doc.uvnc.net/install/cmdline.html

you can post your very good idea to thread feature request
"log vncviewer connection/disconnection to event viewer"

and i reply for push, need more 3 true persons reply for have a chance for add new feature.

I think access to the repeater log would do the trick...

All you have to do is listen for TCP packets - once you get what you want - log the time (start/end)

I feel it would be a valuable addition as well in the future.

YES! I've been hoping for a decent log from the repeater for a long time, or even the viewer. This is so basic, I'm surprised it hasn't been included years ago.
