Best way for custumers behind a router ? (Read many posts)

Post by Ripley »

Hello guys,
I`m playing around with SC.
I have used also the custom Upload tool. (Compiler)
Opened the UVNC Viewer (Listening Mode) on port 5500.
Used Port Forwarding TCP and UDP (needed both ?) to my PC.
The other side opens SC and want to connect to me over a Router.
Must the SC Side also make Port Forwarding ?
Sometimes it don`t function without, cause the Router i think.
Must the SC Side use the Repeater ?
If yes how does the repeater function and what must put the SC side in ?
I used a ***.dyndns.org:5500 for normal if the ports are open on the SC Side.
What versions should i use, which is also stable ?
Is there also a version for OSX out ?
Thanks for your answers.
Greetings from Germany
Walter

P.S: Very nice stuff this UVNC tools. Thank you.

btw: The 128bit Encrypten Plugin with genrated Key doesn`t work for me.

btw: is this tool intresting for VNC users ?

only TCP

Must the SC Side also make Port Forwarding ?
No for all NAT router and any SC
no for many firewall do not check content https (SSL) call made by SCIII (port 443 = SSL aka https)
Yes for firewall block outoing call port 5500 from SCII

Must the SC Side also make Port Forwarding ?
Yes, only with SCII and some Firewall block outgoing call except port you allowed.
No for SCIII (secure connection SSL on port 443)

Must the SC Side use the Repeater ?
No, this an option
this option you need modifiy the helpdesk.txt to allow connection to repeater but anyway, don't need any modification on computer of your customer or router of your customer/friend/family

I used a ***.dyndns.org:5500 for normal if the ports are open on the SC Side.
No, because is an outgoing connection. Only strong firewall don't let SC running.

What versions should i use, which is also stable ?
depend of your need see above answers.
I prefer SCIII but viewer need connect to repeater on viewer side for all type outgoing connection firewalled of your partners.

Is there also a version for OSX out ?
actual SC built on UltraVNC 1.0.x Not available on Mac
Maybe next generation of SC based on futur UltraVNC V2 with software code cross plateform, some developer of Apple fan can create this tool freely.

possible workaround for Mac for now ?
Is Apple Remote Desktop allow initate outgoing connection to VNC ?

btw: The 128bit Encrypten Plugin with genrated Key doesn`t work for me.

Not enough, need more detail.
OS ?
build of MSRC4plugin ?
vnc viewer build ?
vnc server buid ?

btw: is this tool intresting for VNC users ?
???
For anybody want remote assistance without lost time for help friend/family/customers without move of anybody.

use SCIII and forget key generation.
SCIII allow secure connection SSL over port 443 aka https like
secure e-business, bank connection, any way need safe connection over public Internet.
