Rudi, you guys rock big time! I can see how this would be awesome once it's completed. It has the usual beta bugs but it's a proof of conscept for major improvements that are much needed.
Will we be able to construct a /config file that launches a series of connections and tile them or thumbnail them?

Is there any way we could have a "Favorites" menu in which we can save our most-used connections? Sort of like a "VNC Browser", if you will. Being an ex-Radmin user, the only thing I miss is having a central place for all my connections. Right now I just have a bunch of .vnc files inside a folder, which is pretty close. But with this new UI, a "Favorites" menu would be pretty awesome, IMHO.
Ps. Awesome job, Rudi... very impressive =)

personalize our screen size now is amazing result
exactling what many users requests and me too.
full screen autoscaling, streched, larger, smaller
everything now possible, so great work
idea,
under windows, add "TAB" (like firefox or Opera) that complete all need
cascade or tile is not same result as tabbed viewers or favorites
continue this way, beautiful

Whoa, yes! That has to be the best idea I've ever heard on here. A tabbed interface like Firefox, and then my idea of a Favorites at the top - that would be so awesome! I hope you guys buy into both ideas, it would be so cool.redge wrote:under windows, add "TAB" (like firefox or Opera) that complete all need cascade or tile is not same result as tabbed viewers or favorites

I think I've noticed a slight bug. I'm not sure, but when I minimize the beta viewer, I don't think it pauses the connection. FYI.
EDIT: It also doesn't seem to do double-clicks very well.
EDIT2: It also seems after awhile, the viewer starts using up all my CPU time.

The old "sleep" method on minimize will not longer work.
I know.....
Need to be replaced, as with multi viewers you need some other method.
(viewer can have 3 states)
Viewer with focus -->full speed
Viewers without focus --->use some timer (update screen every x second)
Viewer iconified --> (update every 60 sec, just to keep the connection open)

But how about Viewer Manager minimized ---> all screens paused??Rudi De Vos wrote:The old "sleep" method on minimize will not longer work.

Just a thought, I'm for whatever everyone else wants... =)

Great!
I have been using UltraVNC for a while now, mostly as a backup to PCanywhere, but see it as a real replacement now. Also, since I found SC, I am certain I can save our company some money for remote support.
I have dual-screen setups in my home office and at work so I can test features. I have already run the version you have on the site and it worked fine as far as what is already functional, but I found a problem.
If I click on the maximize button on one of the sessions it becomes full screen within the new interface. Can't be changed back.
I really am looking forward to the extended functionality of this viewer interface. I echo the sentiment about a tabbed interface.

Even the new BETA doesn't work yet
First of all, congratulations on an excellent product! I'm looking forward to using UltraVNC in the coming months. I had been using RealVNC and liked it but find UltraVNC to be a much smoother interface and much less disruptive to the server PC (no jittery mouse cursor).
My big problem is with dual monitor connection. The RealVNC did that fine. With UltraVNC it's OK using the toggle to display each of the server's screens. However my goal is to have a dual monitor at home to connect to the dual monitor server at work and continue to work in a dual-screen mode. The toggle doesn't fit that need.
I tried the latest BETA, and it blows up alot when viewer is also on a dual monitor system. And the screen clarity is very low. I tried the Video Hook Driver and the screen is crazy -- very blurry and the background image is hidden until I move the mouse over a spot, revealing part of the background image.
I see that people are very happy with this BETA, and suspect there is something in my setup. I have multiple PCs to test with, basically all are Windows XP -- up to date revisions. Mainly using NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 to support dual-screen.
If you have suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise if I find the magic configuration first I will pass it on.

is it a bit slow?
or is it just me?
i tried this with a SC session... viewer was in listen mode...and the mouse movements were choppy.
anyone else have this problem too or is it just my setup?
this is my parms for the viewer listening
"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer2.exe" -listen 443 -8bit -dsmplugin msrc4plugin_noreg.dsm -autoscaling -256colors

Lunch normal mode vncviewer with an imediate available icon to systray not yet listening.
(this way that allow later time to start/stop deamon listening and close vnc deamon/vncviewer with the right click on vncviewer icon systray)
Possible to add this feature ?
now,
icon vncviewer icon systray available only when you go to menu File ... Start Listener or start vncviewer.exe -listen 5500 from command line and from shortcut.

Possible to add new tab "Start/Stop Listener" at right of "New Connection"
(function tab "Start/Stop" synchonised with icon vncviewer systray)
I hope would be very user friendly.
Thank you for the great effort made remote control freely available to all as much easy to use day after day

Re: New test viewer available
HI Rudi De Vos
I followed your link and I can only find the Tabbed_viewer(1.28);
I installed it, but there is not Toolbars as shown in your screenshot;
I like to have the toolbars; where can I find the version with ToolBar
(Tabbed_viewer)?
I am using Viewer 1.0.1, it work fine so far, I want to have autoscaling feature as Tabbed_viewer, and also want to keep the Toolbars as the Release 1.0.1;
Can you help me?
Thank you very much!
