Unknown authentication scheme!

Post by tim71 »

SC is really almost perfect tool for remote support, but when it comes to get it work with MSRC plugin, then I always get the same problem: I get "Unknown authentication scheme!" - message on viewer side and nothing helps.

I thought that something maybe wrong vith my included key when using your online exe creator. I tried to create exe with other key and tried to connect again - now I got this long blablabla window, which appears when protocols are not correct or plugin is not found or something like that.

When I try to create connection without encryption, then everything works without problems...

I even thought to change my binaries on viewer side to RC194 ones but could not find them anywhere any more :|

With RC 195 and all newer releases it's always this "Unknown authentication scheme"-thing... :|

I Love this program too... its GREAT!!
I had the same problem.. used the included key, tried my own, and then finally found a note in these forums about using the updated MSRC pulgin and that solved all my problems.
Good luck

Nope - that didn't help. Used 112 and 114 plugins - _reg and _noreg versions...
Always the same reaction :|

Unknown Authentication Error

Post by Peter Marchert »

Hello,

I had the same problem after I reinstallt Ultra-VNC. I tried a lot and find the solution by renaming the dsm-plugin.

In my helpdesk.txt I have the following entry:

Code: Select all

[HOST]
Verbindung herstellen (128-Bit verschlüsselt)
-plugin -connect marchert.dyndns.org:5500 -noregistry
Today I loaded the dsm-plugin again from the webpage and upacked it. Then I saw, there a two version of the plugin: MSRC4Plugin.dsm and MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm.

Because I have the "-noregistry"-entry in the helpdesk.txt I copied the MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm to the programdirectory of Ultra-VNC and renamed it to MSRC4Plugin.dsm. Now it`s every thing ok.

In the hope I helped somebody

Peter is correct,

I only use the noreg.dsm and really I am wondering why the other *.dsm file is still packaged with UltraVNC because a lot of new users have this same problem..:)

reason of 2 build of encryption plugin
UltraVNC FAQ
[topic=3049][/topic]

the mistake for SingleClick
MSRC4plugin.dsm is hardcoded instead the correct one MSRC4plugin_noreg.dsm only usable for SingleClick because there don't read registry.
