Long time...First Time

Post by afftek »

I am a long time RealVNC user (LAN only) and was thrilled to discover UltraVNC and that it supported such strong encryption.

Set-up:

I have installed UltraVNC on my Win2K3 server at home. The server currently runs Apache 2.0 and the website is accessible both behind and through the multiple firewall layers. I set up UltraVNC to use port 800 (Main) and disabled javaviewer. I also set up a special user account and configured the video driver on the VNC Server. The VNC Server is authorized in the software firewall (Sygate) and the port mapping is complete in the router.

Results:

I can access the server remotely by the internal IP address using VNC Viewer. When I try to connect using the outside external IP address of my router, or if I try to connect from work. The connection is created and I am prompted for the password and the password is accepted and the task manager shows UltraVNC Viewer is running but the remote screen never displays.

The connection box disapears immediately after accepting the password and the server log shows the authentication but nothing else.

Please help...what am I missing?

Are you running winvnc.exe as a service or an application?

I disabled the video hook driver today and that had no effect so I will try the mirror driver tomorrow and see if that helps. Thanks.
