Won't work on both encrypted and no encryption
Won't work on both encrypted and no encryption
For some reason, the plugin I have wont work in both encrypted mode and non encrypted mode. I am using the No Reg version of the dsm, version 1.1.8.0 according to the file.
I set the vnc viewer to start with these options:
"C:\Program Files\UltraVNC\vncviewer.exe" -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm -listen
SC client's config:
[HOST]
1. Internet support server
-connect (address).com:5500 -noregistry
[HOST]
2. Internet support server w/encryption
-plugin -connect (address).com:5500 -noregistry
Problem :: the SC client cont connect to the vncviewer on host 1. It gives the below error. If I take the -dsmplugin option out of the viewer, the exact reverse happens. host 1 connects but host 2 gives the below error. Can Anyone Help!?

Silivrenion,
Did you copy the noreg.dsm to the c:\Program Files\UltraVNC\ directory??
Did you test in a lan setting?? If not that would be a very good test.
You also have to port forward ports from the WAN IP to your internal IP port
Single Click default port is 5500.
Did you take a look at Dwalfs Single Click step by step

Along with UltraVNC SC Manual

Hope this helps,

I copied the nreg.dsm to both the ultravnc directory, and its included in the .exe of the SC
ports are forwarded too
The problem is that the SC connects on either no encryption, or encryption, never with both.
If i DONT include -dsmplugin in the path for the viewer, host 1 will connect, but not 2.
If i DO include -dsmplugin in the path for the viewer, host 2 will connect, but not 1.
It seems to me that while including the -dsmplugin option, the viewer should be able to receive both encrypted and nonencrypted, it just makes it more adept.

baldi,
I know that they are looking for help in the documentation project. Do you want to assist. They are so very few people who contribute to the project in the documentation area. I try to find things that need updated and sent the information to people in charge but there is a lot to go through. If you find sections that are in need of updated try to post them into the doc writers topic so that I can see if I can get them updated..
Thanks for your efforts and help making Ultra VNC better..

back on topic, my configuration is correct, but the viewer wont receive both encrypted and nonencrypted connections in one session, thats just the point of it. If the listening viewer can receive encrypted and nonencrypted without having to open two different client on two different ports, then it will probably work.
So your saying when you setup your helpdesk.txt file to use one connection as encrypted and another connection as non encrypted and you setup your viewer to use encrypted you get this problem?Silivrenion wrote:back on topic, my configuration is correct, but the viewer wont receive both encrypted and nonencrypted connections in one session, thats just the point of it. Am i right?
I dont use encrypted connections myself. but have seen something like this. Has to do with the plugin setting and not having the vncviewer setup.

Hope this helps. I have not tested but hopefully if we make a start we all will know.
Use at own Risk
1. Download the DSM Plugin from (Please visit these this site, good guys)
http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/index.html
Download
http://msrc4plugin.home.comcast.net/msr ... gin118.zip
2. Copy the plugin file from the ZIP file into your UltraVnc directory where your vncviewer.exe and other files are.
3. Double click on the VNCviewer.exe -listen icon running in the taskbar.
(Start vncviewer -listen if not in taskbar.)
When open you now will see the plugin avalible. Select the plugin and TIk the check box and click on config.
4. You now have the option to create the rc4.key file. click on the GEN KEY button to make the file.
5. You now will see the NEW_RC4.KEY file in your ULTRAVNC folder. Rename this file to RC4.KEY and add it to your SC Package and then use the online creator to make your exe.
6. You now need to change your helpdesk.txt file and include the [-plugin] option.
-plugin -connect (IP/Domain):5500 -noregistry
7. You need to exit the vncviewer and run it with the [-dsmplugin] option.
vncviewer.exe -listen 5500 -dsmplugin MSRC4Plugin_NoReg.dsm
Hope this helps.
For you document guys cut and past this section if you want.
Cheers

I know how to use the plugin and get all that jazz to work, so before my topic becomes filled with replies that people wont create their own topics about, i'll revert back to the main topic again.
Yes dwalf, that is what I am saying. I have the client configured to connect to the listening viewer with both encrypted and nonencrypted connections, but the viewer is only establishing connections with whichever type it receives. It is almost as if the viewer can't handle a nonencrypted connection once given the -dsmplugin option.
So what am I to do now?

UltraVNC Viewer don't yet allow automatic recognition of dsmplugin like RealVNC do with their automatic encryption password and uncrypted password
Maybe in later release UltraVNC
(do not ask when... nobody know if available or not)
there exist a lots of developers don't give back a little bit part of code return fix, feature)
just take it as one way and modify just for himself...and won't share back to open source community
