Hi all,
I've a question for you.
I've installed a repeater mode II (1.04) in my LAN and I've properly setted the ports on firewall so if I use a singleClick connected to internet via modem (like a notepad) the repeater works fine and I can connect with it from my LAN.
So the setting on myLAN-side is good.
I gave a SC to my customer that runs behind a firewall/proxy and I can't connect with him.
Can anyone help me?
What are the setting to do on his lan?
Thanks
Mr.Reds

Repeater ModeII problem
SCIII only works on Port 443. I doesnt seem to like any kind of Double Natting. You can only really forward a public Ip port to 443 for it to work properly
They should have to not change anything on their lan for it to work. If they have a software firewall it my prompt to allow access and they may have to grant it.
I am guessing that you issue maybe with the port 443.
You might also have to forward port 5500 to your repeater as well but I am not 100% on that one. SCIII is still in Beta so it may have some bugs..

Did you check your Repeater Log? Was a connection made or an error logged?
I am assuming that you are using SCIII and Repeater II (distributer5.exe), but not certain from your post. The current http://sc.uvnc.com/SCIII/repeaterII/ is BETA but in my opinion working and specifically eliminates many client side network issues.
Before you fix something that isn’t broke check the basics. Send your SC to someone else (WAN side) who can make a connection. Then you will know if you are dealing with a client side network issue or not. If they can’t connect then start with your firewall port routing (this is what I suspect if your SC can't connect from the WAN but can from the LAN), then your repeater, and work back to your SC helpdesk.txt.
If your test WAN connection works then you may want to consider the BETA Repeater and SCIII with the –sslproxy. If you are not already using it.
Hope this helps. If you are still having problems please repost with actual network settings, ports forwarded, repeater settings and helpdesk.txt edited for security if need be.
