rc4.key missing

Post by dcheest »

Whenever someone tries to connect to my SC executable they get an error that "The plugin was unable to locate the key file....". If they click ok it works, but it is a little annoying. I am not using encryption. Any idea how to get rid of this error?

Read this post at the bottom.

Either your vncviewer.exe is set to use the plugin or the rc4.key file was not in your zip file when you created the EXE.

Hope it helps

You're right, I didn't include an rc4.key file in my EXE. Do I have to? I DON"T want any encryption.

Thanks.

I figured it out. I had not successfully uploaded the new version of my SC exe to my website. The old version still had the -plugin option in the helpdesk.txt file.

Thanks for hte help and sorry for being a bonehead.
