SC, vnchooks.dll version

Post by maxsala »

I got from the "download SC" Web page the last SC 1.0.
It uses the vnchooks.dll, 52 Kb, version 3.3.6.0.

The latest official UltraVnc (1.01) uses the vnchooks.dll, 96 Kb, version 1.1.0.0.

Is it a mistake ?

ciao, Massimo

The hookdll is the same.
Size: Compiler options: optimize for size
Version: We only added the version to the hookdll with Rel 1.00
SC was made before and contained the (RealVnc 3.3.6) version number.

You can exchange both dll's, except from size they are the same.

A bit off topic, but how do you tell UltraVNC SC to use the hooks driver? Is it an option in the Helpdesk.txt file?

Thanks. Mike.

if winvnc video hook driver is installed on vnc server (SingleClick)
SC detect video hook driver and use it when vncviewer connected.

no option inside helpdesk.txt for video hook driver as my knowledge

Rudi, thanks for the answer.

However I suggest to keep the exact same file, otherwise it can create doubts like mine to others...
